Senior Accountant III - Consolidations
Summary
This position focuses on international consolidation, reporting and accounting analysis, and other financial activities. Responsibilities also include determining and documenting business needs and requirements, designing, testing, implementing new systems, and modifying existing systems to meet business needs. This position is under direction from management using independent judgment and performs advanced and specialized accounting assignments, usually involving complex and confidential data. The position reports to the Corporate Controller and provides work leadership and direction to other accountants and clerical workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the global consolidation and reporting processes, including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates and eliminating intercompany balances and investment in subsidiaries.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Work collaboratively with other corporate finance team members and regional teams to achieve accurate and timely results.
- Complete foreign currency reasonableness calculations and proofs.
- Assist in creating and developing efficiencies within the consolidation process.
- Assist in preparing necessary audit schedules to support the financials and footnote disclosures.
- Assist with analytical reviews of monthly and annual financials.
- Work with regional finance teams to align global accounting policies and procedures for key areas.
- Interface with external auditors for periodic financial reviews and other inquiries.
- Participate in special projects as deemed necessary.
Education and/or Experience
- 5+ years of related experience
- Mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred but not required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or another relevant field required.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP required.
- Previous consolidation experience and accounting system experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of multi-currency transactions and related impacts on the financial statements
- Ability to multitask and work effectively independently and in teams, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting established standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with senior-level managers and teammates.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
